Garment Research, Design Training & Development Centre, Bellary.

The Garment Research, Design Training & Development Center, Bellary has been established with the financial assistance from ASIDE (Assistance to state for Developing Export Infrastructure & Allied Industries), Department of Handloom and Textiles, Government of Karnataka  and Karnataka state Textile Infrastructure Development Corporation. The Center is Providing systematic training not only to the rural youth but also to the techinical personnel seeking better opportunities in garment sector with following objectives:

  • To Provide skilled manpower to the apparel industry for manufacturing products as per international standards.
  • To promote manpower and design development required for garment manufacturing.
  • To provide training to the rural youth and the weaker sections of the society to enhance employment opportunities for them.

Keeping the human resource requirement of the apparel industry in view, the following courses are offered by the Centre:

  • Short Term Courses
  • GMOP
  • Degree Courses.

Garment Research, Design Training & Development Center, Shimoga.
For the establishment of Garment Research, Design Training & Development Centre, Shimoga, M/s.Shahi Exports Pvt.Ltd., agreed to sub lease 2 acres of land for the project. The Govt. of Karnataka accorded administrative approval to implement the project with the assistance of ASIDE. As per the approved project, the project cost is Rs.458.00 lakhs out of which GOK through Handlooms and Textiles Dept., grant is Rs.122.00 lakhs, Rs.331.00 lakhs grant under ASIDE and the implementing agency KSTIDCL is contributing Rs.5.00 lakhs. The project is under implementation.
Garment Research, Design Training & Development Centre, Hosadurga.
For establishment of Garment Research, Design Training & Development Centre, Hosadurga a sum of Rs.150.00 lakhs has been released by GOK through Handloom and Textile Department. A grant Rs.600.00 lakhs has been approved by the ASIDE subject to establishment of Garment Units by M/s Shahi Exports and Bombay Rayon. KSTIDC is the Implementing Agency for the said project.
Garment Training Institute, Doddaballapur.
The corporation has established a Garment Training Institute at Doddaballapur which is housed in Rented Accomodation of KIADB. The project is funded by Handloom and Textiles Department. The Centre has already started functioning.

  • NIFT has handed over the assets of the Training Center
  • KIADB has allotted buildings on rental basis
  • Garment Machineries imported from Japan, China & other countries & installed.
  • Furniture & Fixtures and teaching aids & tools procured.
  • Rs. 38 lakhs per annum recurring expenditure is provided by department of H & T.
Powerloom training centre, Hosadurga.
Rs.12.00 lakhs has been sanctioned and released by Handlooms & Textile Department for the establishment of Powerloom Training centre at Hosadurga. Training has been commenced from 15th May 2010 and fully completed.
